چکیده

This study presents a methodology based on Linear Programming for determining the optimal pump schedule on a 24-hour basis, considering as decision variables the continuous pump flow rates which are subsequently transformed into a discrete schedule. The methodology was applied on a case study derived from the benchmark Anytown network. To evaluate the LP reliability, a comparison was made with solutions generated by a Hybrid Discrete Dynamically Dimensioned Search (HD-DDS) algorithm. The cost associated with the result derived from the LP initial solution was shown to be lower than that obtained with repeated HD-DDS runs with differing random seeds. © 2013 The Authors. A fuzzy multi-objective linear programming approach for solving a new multi-objective job shop scheduling with sequence-dependent setup times

This paper presents a new mathematical model for a bi-objective job shop scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup times that minimizes the weighted mean completion time and the weighted mean tardiness time. For solving this multi-objective model, we develop a fuzzy multi-objective linear programming (FMOLP) model. In this problem, a proposed FMOLP method is applied with respect to the o...

A Simulated Annealing Algorithm for Multi Objective Flexible Job Shop Scheduling with Overlapping in Operations

In this paper, we considered solving approaches to flexible job shop problems. Makespan is not a good evaluation criterion with overlapping in operations assumption. Accordingly, in addition to makespan, we used total machine work loading time and critical machine work loading time as evaluation criteria. As overlapping in operations is a practical assumption in chemical, petrochemical, and gla...

Solving a New Multi-objective Unrelated Parallel Machines Scheduling Problem by Hybrid Teaching-learning Based Optimization

This paper considers a scheduling problem of a set of independent jobs on unrelated parallel machines (UPMs) that minimizesthe maximum completion time (i.e., makespan or ), maximum earliness ( ), and maximum tardiness ( ) simultaneously. Jobs have non-identical due dates, sequence-dependent setup times and machine-dependentprocessing times. A multi-objective mixed-integer linear programmi...

Trucks Scheduling in a Multi-product Cross Docking System with Multiple Temporary Storages and Multiple Dock Doors

In order to reduce costs and increase efficiency of a supply chain system, cross docking is one of the most important strategies of warehousing for consolidation shipments from different suppliers to different customers. Products are collected from suppliers by inbound trucks and then moved to customers by outbound trucks through cross dock. Scheduling of trucks plays important role in the cros...

Modeling and scheduling no-idle hybrid flow shop problems

Although several papers have studied no-idle scheduling problems, they all focus on flow shops, assuming one processor at each working stage. But, companies commonly extend to hybrid flow shops by duplicating machines in parallel in stages. This paper considers the problem of scheduling no-idle hybrid flow shops. A mixed integer linear programming model is first developed to mathematically form...
